Mercon 2011 Convention Diary

Last weekend was the first annual Wolrd Mermaids Awards (aka Mercon) convention. The convention was dedicated to mermaid tail makers, fashion, makeup and shell bras! We had a booth at Mercon showcasing our newest collection- The Sparkling Sea- a jewelry line dedicated to mermaids and sea creatures!

The Silverton Hotel and Casino was the location of the convention- which was perfect since it has a Mermaid themed bar and live swimming mermaids in a tank!

We started off our under sea adventure with a book signing and meet and greet with two famous mermaids, Hannah Mermaid and the Weeki Wachee mermaid queen. Hannah Mermaid is really inspiring, she's able to hold her breath under water so long that she can swim with whales and play in sunken ships- all without coming up for air or using a air tank. She's also a huge enviromentalist and uses her passion to help save sealife.

Hannah made her own tail- each shell is hand sewn on- it weights 15 pounds!

A bunch of mermaids and friends showed up for the signing and greet. SO CUTE!

Here I am with Zilla308, Hannah Mermaid and LeBebeCupcake! We are all wearing The Sparkling Sea collection jewelry!

Friday was the day of Mercon! Here I am with my booth, ready to swim! Ha

Close up short, featuring Traci Hines as our beautiful Mermaid model!

Helping me out where my lovely booth babes: Sparkleystephiee, Zilla308, and LeBebeCupcake! So cute!

Mercon was full of costumed cuties, check out these two- pirates and mermaids can get a long!

There was a very interesting mermaid beauty pageant held in the middle of the day, for more photos, check out Zilla308's gallery on the pageant!

The best customer of the day by far was little Lucas! Who says boys can't wear jewelry? He has such a good time hanging out with all of us!

After the convention was over, there was an after party to attend! All the mermaids took over the pool in The Silverton Hotel and whipped their tails back and forth! Bebe made her own tail, it was her first time swimming with it, doesn't she look super cute?

The highlight of the night was meeting King Tritant himself!

We ended the night by seeing Hannah Mermaid take a dip in the pool, seriously, this woman was meant to live in the ocean!
Mercon was so much fun, till next year, Vegas!
